We are thinking of a solar powered 78 foot catamaran for use in the Caribbean.
This should be rather stable,
but imagine we have someone who wants less movement while he is working on a computer on a yacht.

There are sailboats with "gimbaled stoves" that stay level even as the boat rolls. 
There are cruise ships with stabilized pool tables.
There are stabilized satellite antennas on some yachts.
There are "smooth move captains chairs".
Has anyone ever developed a "gimbaled desk" or "stabilized desk" for a yacht?

You would want to locate this as near the center of the yacht as possible.
If we had a corner desk with shelves and a built in chair so the users view to the side of his computer is just this desk.
Look at some sort of passive stabilization for this desk (maybe some kind of springs and dampening)
and also some sort of active stabilization.
What sort of designs would you recommends?  
Estimate how well the passive and active designs would work and what each would cost.  

I think you want to locate this at the center of mass for the boat.  On a monohull this is possible.
On a catamaran it might not be possible to get exactly at the center of mass but the closer you get the better.

A moving desk-pod could be a danger go children or pets so probably too dangerous for a boat with either.
It may not be reasonable in any case, but seems an interesting idea to check into it at least a bit.
