Sailboats roll less because of the sail pushing on the air (monohull or catamaran). Powerboats roll less because they are going fast and so averaging out lots of different waves and on average the ocean is level (monohull or catamaran). Trawler boats are moving fast enough that they can have stabilizers and be very stable. A solar powered boat that moves slowly and does not have sails tends to be noticeably less comfortable than either sail or normal powerboats (monohull or catamaran). Please try to explain and quantify the above. Please try to explain resonance, damping, RAD comfort index, center of gravity, natural roll period, metacentric height, waterplane area, underwater foils, and other concepts that a novice naval architect might need to understand to work on how to make a solar yacht more comfortable.
