We are working on a seastead design. This is NOT a normal boat hull shape, it is more like a tiny oil platform. Above the water there will be a big triangle frame, maybe 60 feet on a side. The triangle frame will be a sort of truss structure that also doubles as a 4 foot high railing to keep humans from falling off. We will call the 3 points on the triangle "front", "left", and "right". And the edge between left and right we will call "back". There will be 3 floats/legs/wings that will be the buoyancy. Each leg will 39 feet long and have the shape of an airfoil or wing with 7 foot chord and 2 foot width. Each of the 3 legs will be attached at one of the 3 points of the big triangle. Each leg will go away from the point it is attached to and angle down into the water at 45 degrees. For each leg 60% under the water and the top 40% connecting to the triangle will be out of the water. This is a tensegrity structure, the joints between legs and body are flexible though we don't really expect movement. Each of the legs will have two cables going from the bottom of the leg to the other 2 corners on the triangle. The leg will be heading away from the corner it is at and down into the water at 45 degrees. The buoyancy force will want to lift the leg up and out but the two cables will hold it down and in. For redundancy there will be another cable that makes a loop/triangle connecting the bottoms of the 3 legs under water. There will be stairs with rails going down the top of each leg 1/3rd of the way so the steps go to the edge of the water. About 6 feet from the bottom of each leg there will be a RIM drive thruster of 1.5 foot diameter on each side of the wing near the thickest part of the wing. So 2 thrusters per leg and 6 thrusters total. With differential trust on each wing the wings can be rotated to be used as active stabilizers. The normal position all the wings will be oriented so the seastead can move forward through the water easily. So the wing on the "front" will have the leading edge of the wing aimed away from the seastead. The other 2 wings will be parallel to the front one. The living area is mostly a rectangle 14 feet wide and goes from 4 feet inside the center of the back edge of the triangle and the last part of the living area comes to a point inside the railing by "front" point. The bottom of the living area in the same plane as the bottom of the triangle frame/railing. There will be solar on the top of the living area and also fold down panels on the left and right sides. In the picture have the fold down panels up and level with the top of the living area. The living area is 8 feet high and the fold down panels go out 4 feet. Inside the triangle close to the "left" point and along the edge going toward "front" point will be a 14 foot RIB boat with 1 outboard motor. Inside the triangle close to the "right" point and along the edge going toward "front" point will be a 22 foot RIB boat with center consol and 2 outboard motors.
